An overview of this role

We're looking for a strategic, data-driven owner for about.gitlab.com, the site where developers, platform teams and enterprise buyers first meet GitLab. You'll build a performance-based strategy for where the site goes next, align partners around it, and see it through: from the roadmap and experimentation program to the pages behind every major product launch and event.

You set direction and orchestrate the work; you don't need to build it yourself.

What You'll Do

  • Build a performance-based strategy and quarterly roadmap for about.gitlab.com, tied to pipeline and self-serve trial goals, and align Marketing leadership and partners around it.
  • Set the experimentation roadmap based on business goals and manage the optimization program, partnering with User Experience (UX) Design so design shapes what we test from the start.
  • Own launch page production for major product launches and events, from calendar and brief to launch readiness and post-launch cleanup, with UX Design, Product Marketing, Content and Marketing Engineering.
  • Set direction for information architecture and content governance, so a site with many contributors stays coherent, on brand and easy for search and artificial intelligence (AI) answer engines to understand.
  • Represent content contributors on the content management system (CMS) roadmap, and bring AI into their workflows with clear guardrails for human review.
  • Build a two-way partnership with localization content managers so learnings flow between the English and localized sites.
  • Define the site's success metrics (conversion on key paths, site-sourced pipeline, test velocity and win rate, on-time launches) and report progress to Marketing leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience owning strategy for a high-traffic business-to-business software-as-a-service website, ideally one with many audiences and contributors.
  • A track record of setting an experimentation roadmap and running a program that delivered measurable conversion or pipeline lift.
  • Experience running website launches across design, content, product marketing and engineering teams.
  • Skill at turning analytics, research and A/B test results into clear priorities.
  • The ability to lead through influence: you build credibility with designers, engineers and marketers, and act as a partner, not a gatekeeper.
  • Technical fluency with modern websites and content management systems, enough to make tradeoffs with engineers. You don't need to write production code.
  • Curiosity about AI and experience using it to improve content or web workflows.
  • Clear, concise asynchronous writing and the ability to thrive in GitLab's all-remote, handbook-first culture.
