About the role

Our chargers and products are used outdoors every day by drivers, station operators and service technicians — through dust, monsoon and heat. They should be easy to use, feel solid in the hand, and still look and work like new two years in.

You'll be the engineer who makes that happen. You start with the people using the product — how they reach, hold, plug in, read status and service it — and then design the parts that make that experience simple and reliable, all the way to production.

What you'll do

  • Spend time in the field watching how people use our products, and turn what you see into design requirements.
  • Design the parts people touch: connector holsters, handles, doors, cable management, displays and status lights.
  • Make the product comfortable, intuitive and hard to misuse — easy to grip, clear feedback, one obvious way to do it right.
  • Make it last outdoors: weatherproofing, durable materials and finishes, and the testing to prove it.
  • Make it quick to assemble and easy to service.
  • Take designs from concept to production parts, working closely with Industrial Design, tool makers and suppliers.
  • Lead design decisions, mentor junior engineers, and work across electronics, manufacturing, quality and service.

What we're looking for

  • Mechanical or product design engineering degree, 6–9 years of experience.
  • Products you designed and took to production that people use every day. We'll ask what users thought and what you changed because of it.
  • Strong plastic and sheet metal part design, and hands-on experience with suppliers and tooling.
  • Experience designing outdoor or weatherproof products.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
  • The judgement to push back when a cost cut makes the product worse to use.

Nice to have: experience in EV charging, automotive, appliances, power tools or outdoor equipment; user research or usability testing; lighting design.

In the interview

Bring two or three products you took to production. Tell us who used them, what you designed for them, and what you'd do differently now. Photos of real parts beat renders.
